Common use of Cash in Lieu of Health Benefits Clause in Contracts

Cash in Lieu of Health Benefits. In lieu of subscribing to the Board provided health insurance, a full-time teacher hired prior to July 1, 2016 may elect a cash option equal in dollar amount to $3500.00. Those employed less than full-time may elect a prorated cash option. Cash in lieu will be disbursed over 24 pay periods and will not be paid on the 3rd pay of the month. For employees hired on or after July 1, 2016, Cash in lieu of Health will be paid equal in dollar amount to $2400.00.
