Challenge of Proposed Suspension or Dismissal. If, pursuant to Article 9.1, the Initiating Administrator, with the concurrence of the Xxxx, if applicable, proposes suspension or dismissal of a Faculty Member, the Faculty Member may challenge the validity of the charges, and/or the severity of the proposed discipline, and/or allege that proper disciplinary procedures were not followed. To access the formal grievance procedure, the Faculty Member must first complete or waive mediation. The Faculty Member must request or waive mediation within seven (7) days after receiving the notice of proposed dismissal.
