Common use of Change of card account number Clause in Contracts

Change of card account number. (a) We may at your request or at any time without incurring any liability or giving any reason, and upon giving you notice, change your card account number; and issue a replacement card; and transfer the total outstanding balance and all credits (if any) from your original card account to the new card account. After we have given you such notice, you must immediately return to us the card cut in half. (b) Your obligations and liabilities under this agreement will not be affected or prejudiced by such change of your card account and this agreement and all previous direct debit authorization/GIRO instructions given to us in respect of your former card account will continue to apply to the new card account and we will continue to make such debits unless you otherwise notify us in writing. Notwithstanding the above, your billing organizations may require that you re-establish your direct debit authorizations / GIRO instructions by providing them your new card account number. In such instances, you shall be required to notify and update the respective billing organizations and Citibank will not be liable for any damage, loss, claims which may arise from your failure to update the respective billing organizations and/or the termination/ rejection of your direct debit authorization/GIRO instructions.
