Christmas Holidays. During the holiday season, the decision to close a facility or to keep it open is made by the Employer while taking into account a survey of parents' needs during this period and the facility's experience in previous years. If the Centre closes for the holiday season, in addition to the holidays provided for in 6-2.01, permanent and temporary employees with at least 1 year of service shall be entitled to a number of holidays equal to the length of this period in accordance with past practice, without loss of pay. If the Centre remains open for the holiday season, the Employer shall notify employees of the number of people required to work during this period and shall receive requests for leave from employees. The Employer shall assign, by seniority, permanent employees not taking leave, then temporary employees, also by order of seniority; if the needs of the Centre cannot thus be met, the Employer shall then assign permanent employees by reverse order of seniority. Employees with at least 1 year of service who work during this period may reclaim their time at a time of their choosing.

Christmas Holidays. The Employer agrees that in 2016 Friday December 23rd will be a day off and in 2017 Friday December 22nd will be a day off.

The payment schedule for the holiday pay and any overtime worked will be dependent upon the banking holiday payroll deadlines.
