Weekend Holidays. 9.3.1. A full-time employee who works a Monday through Friday schedule and the calendar holiday falls on a Saturday, the employee shall be allowed the preceding day off. When a holiday falls on a Sunday, the employee shall be allowed the following day off. If the employee works the day preceding or following such a holiday, he/she shall be given another workday off with pay or shall receive payment for that day at the regular rate.
Weekend Holidays. When a holiday falls on the first day of an employee's weekend, it shall be observed on the preceding day. When a holiday falls on the second day of an employee's weekend, it shall be observed on the following day. A weekend is two consecutive days off, whether they be Saturday/Sunday, Tuesday/Wednesday, Friday/ Saturday, etc.
Weekend Holidays. When a fixed holiday falls on a Saturday, the previous Friday will be observed as the fixed holiday except that when the preceding Friday is also a fixed holiday, the preceding Thursday will be observed as the fixed holiday. When a fixed holiday falls on a Sunday, the following Monday will be observed as the fixed holiday except that when the following Monday is also a fixed holiday, the following Tuesday will be observed as the fixed holiday. For those County department operations which operate six (6) and seven (7) days per week facilities, fixed holidays which fall on either a Saturday or Sunday shall be observed on those days by employees of those operations scheduled to work.
Weekend Holidays. Whenever a holiday falls on Saturday, the preceding Friday shall be considered to be the holiday. Whenever a holiday falls on Sunday, the following Monday shall be considered to be the holiday. Employees working on an irregular workweek shall receive the same number of holidays as employees working the regular Monday through Friday workweek. Holidays, which occur during paid vacation or sick leave with pay, shall not be charged against such leave.
Weekend Holidays. When a holiday falls on a Saturday, it shall be observed on the preceding Friday. When a holiday falls on a Sunday, it shall be observed on the following Monday. If the preceding Friday or succeeding Monday is also a holiday, then the holiday is observed on the next preceding or succeeding work day.
Weekend Holidays. In the event any of the above holidays fall on a Sunday, they shall be celebrated on the following Monday; in the event they fall on a Saturday, they shall be celebrated on the preceding Friday.
Weekend Holidays. If a holiday listed in Section 11.1 above falls on Sunday, the following Monday shall be observed as the holiday. If a holiday falls on Saturday, it shall be observed on the preceding Friday. In calendar years when Christmas Day, Independence Day, or New Year's Day falls on a Saturday or a Sunday, County employees who work in 24 hour/day, 7 day/week County facilities shall observe the holiday on the day it occurs.
Weekend Holidays. If any of the above holidays fall on Sunday, the following Monday shall be considered as the legal holiday. If any of the above holidays fall on Saturday, the preceding Friday shall be considered as the legal holiday.
Weekend Holidays. For employees whose normal week is Monday through Friday, whenever a holiday falls on Saturday, the preceding Friday shall be considered to be the holiday. If it falls on Sunday, the following Monday shall be considered to be the holiday. For those employees whose workweek is other than Monday through Friday, whenever a holiday falls on their first day off, the preceding day shall be considered to be the holiday. If it falls on their second day off, the next day (following day) shall be considered to be the holiday. When a holiday falls on a Monday or Friday giving the majority of county employees a three (3)- day weekend, employees whose days off are other than Saturday or Sunday may, with supervisory approval, choose to take the day preceding or the day after their weekend off as a holiday in lieu of taking the actual holiday, thus giving them a three-day weekend. Holidays that occur during paid leave of any type shall not be charged against such leave.
Weekend Holidays. Holidays that fall on weekends will be observed on the regular work day either preceding or following that holiday as established by the School Board.
