PLANT HOLIDAYS. 12.01 The Company will recognize the following plant holidays: New Year’s Day Labour Day Xxxxx Xxxx Day Thanksgiving Day Good Friday Victoria Day Remembrance Day Canada Day Christmas Day Civic Holiday Boxing Day National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and any additional holidays as may be declared by the Provincial or Federal Governments. If by reason of an election, the Company is prevented from making deliveries to any area, the Company shall, wherever possible, reschedule work in the week so as to avoid layoffs. If any of the holidays should fall on a Saturday or Sunday, which is an employee’s non-working day, then the Company will designate the work day on which it will be observed. It is understood that either the preceding normal working day or the following normal working day shall be the designated holiday. In order to achieve operational flexibility, the Company may schedule a portion of the workforce to observe the holiday on the Friday and another portion of the workforce to observe the holiday on the Monday.
12.02 Employees will receive eight (8) hours straight time pay for each of such holidays without being required to work on such days provided that:
(a) the employee has not been absent without permission on the last work day scheduled for them immediately prior to the day on which the said holiday is observed, or the first work day scheduled for them immediately after the day on which the said holiday is observed.
(b) In cases where an employee has been on Weekly Indemnity or Workers Compensation and is cleared by their physician to return to work prior to or on the holiday, they will be eligible for pay for that holiday.
(c) If any of the plant holidays above occur during an employee’s absence for which they are on Short Term Disability they shall receive the difference between regular pay and the amount they have received from Short Term Disability for such days during such absence up to fifty-two (52) weeks.
12.03 Any employee who is required to work on any of the aforementioned plant holidays shall be paid at the rate of time and one half in addition to their regular day’s pay of eight (8) hours. Employees will be paid at the rate of double time for all hours worked in excess of eight (8) hours on a plant holiday. Hours worked on an observed or designated Holiday will be paid at time and one half.
PLANT HOLIDAYS. A weekend not worked is equivalent to five (5) holidays. Any balance of negotiated holidays will be paid based upon eight (8) hours at the normal pay per holiday.
PLANT HOLIDAYS. 6.01 All employees covered by this Agreement will receive eight (8) hours' pay at their regular straight time rates for each of the following Plant Holidays (regardless of the day on which the holiday falls) in addition to any wages which they may be in receipt of for work performed on such holidays:
1. New Year’s Day 7. Thanksgiving Day
2. Good Friday 8. Remembrance Day
3. Victoria Day 9. December 24th
4. Canada Day 10. Christmas Day 5. BC Day 11. Boxing Day
PLANT HOLIDAYS. 6.01 Employees with thirty days' service or more shall be paid for New Year's Day, Good Friday, Victoria Day, Dominion Day, Civic Holiday, Labour Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and Boxing Day for the standard number of hours which would have otherwise been worked by them respectively at the employee's regular straight time rate of pay provided, however, the employee works not less than twelve days during the thirty calendar days immediately preceding the holiday.
6.02 If one of the above designated holidays falls during an employee's vacation period, the employee will be granted another day off with pay, at a mutually convenient time.
6.03 An employee required to work on any of the above designated plant holidays will receive time and one-half his regular straight time rate for work performed, in addition to any plant holiday pay to which he may be entitled under Paragraph 6.01 or the employee has the option of advising the Company in advance of working the plant holiday of his desire to be paid time and one-half his regular straight time rate for work performed and receive the plant holiday as a floater at a later date (within the next six months) and be paid straight time for that day in lieu of the plant holiday pay defined in 6.01.
6.04 Subject to the requirements of Paragraph 6.01, employees will be paid for four individual "floater" holidays. These holidays may be taken anytime during the year but not normally during busy periods or consecutive with the employee's annual vacation. The employee will give one week's notice of the holiday he wishes to take, and the day selected will be at the mutual convenience of the Company and the employee. It is understood no more than one employee will take the same holiday.
6.05 When a plant holiday(s) falls on a weekend, the holiday will be observed on the Friday preceding or the Monday following.
PLANT HOLIDAYS. Any employee who is not required to work on the negotiated plant holidays shall be paid twelve (12) hours at their regular rate of pay. Any employee who is required to work on a negotiated plant holiday shall be paid twelve (12) hours at their regular rate of pay, in addition to the appropriate overtime payment for all hours worked on such plant holidays.

18.01 (a) The following days shall be observed as holidays with pay for seniority employees. The following shall be subject to the qualifying requirement of Article 19.
PLANT HOLIDAYS. The following Plant Holidays shall be observed: New Year’s Day Labour Day Family Day Thanksgiving Day Good Friday Christmas Day Victoria Day Boxing Day Canada Day Civic Holiday When Christmas falls on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday, Boxing Day may be observed on the regularly scheduled work day before or after the day on which Christmas Day is observed, at the discretion of Management. The Company also agrees to institute two (2) Floating Holidays per calendar year to be taken on a date mutually agreeable to the Company and the Employee(s) concerned. It is agreed that Floating Holidays may not be carried forward from one calendar year to the next. Plant Holidays shall be paid at the Employee’s regular rate when not worked.
PLANT HOLIDAYS. 21.01 The following days shall be observed as designated holidays: New Year's Day
21.02 In order to qualify for holiday pay, the employee must:
(a) have performed work for the Company in twelve (12) of the last thirty (30) days prior to the holiday,
(b) have worked his full scheduled hours of work on his work day immediately preceding and immediately following the holiday, and
(c) have completed three (3) months of continuous active employment with the Company. Where a holiday falls during any absence unpaid by the Company, including Workers'
21.03 Holiday pay shall be computed on the basis of the number of hours the employee would otherwise have worked had there been no holiday, at the employee's regular straight time hourly rate of pay.
21.04 An employee who works on any of the holidays listed in Article 21.01 hereof shall be paid for each such hour worked on such holiday at the rate of two (2) times his regular rate of pay, and in addition shall receive the holiday pay provided herein, if he meets the eligibility requirements contained in Article 21.02.
(a) Employees with one (1) year or more of continuous service shall receive one (1) day off with regular pay on their birthday. Where their birthday falls on a Saturday or Sunday, the employee will receive the next working day off with regular pay.
(b) The Company will provide an Annual paid “Float Day” based on a 10 hour shift, payable to senior employees (service over 6 months). This Float Day will be applied (and paid out) at timing of the company’s choice (typically over the Christmas vacation period)
21.06 If an employee who is otherwise disqualified under this Article from receiving holiday pay or premium pay has a right to receive public holiday pay or premium pay under the Ontario Employment Standards Act, 2000, as amended, the employee shall receive such public holiday pay and/or premium pay as are required by that Act.
21.07 If a holiday listed in Article 21.01 falls on a Saturday or Sunday, the following Monday or Tuesday, as determined by the Employer, shall be substituted.
