Christmas Closing. 21.08 During the closure of normal operations during the Christmas period employees are entitled to time off between Christmas and New Year's Day inclusive, and will receive regular pay for those hours they would have otherwise been scheduled to work.

Christmas Closing. (a) The Christmas Closing provisions contained in the Collective Agreement do not apply to employees working in the Central Heating Plant; the employee scheduled for maintenance is not required to attend at work for her/his scheduled maintenance shifts but will be paid at her/his regular rate for those shifts.
Christmas Closing. The plant will be closed for the week between Christmas Day and New Year’s Day for the year-end and Christmas holidays. Year-End Christmas Holiday Pay: Eligible employees receive two percent (2%) of annual earnings, which is equal to approximately one (1) week of pay. They also will be paid for Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. To be eligible, an employee must have been employed full- time for one (1) full year as of December 22“. Those employees with less than one full year’s service but more than three (3) months’ service will receive pay for Christmas Day and New year’s Day.
Christmas Closing. Bargaining unit employees who choose to work during the annual Christmas closure will be allowed to so, except on Statutory Holidays, Statutory Holidays in lieu or weekends. Such work may consist of regular duties and in the event that there are is insufficient regular position duties to perform, the AMS will provide special project work in keeping with the position responsibilities. Such work assignments shall be discussed and approved through the Joint Consultation Committee. It is understood that the AMS will not introduce new seasonal layoffs to counter this provision.

  • Christmas Day Easter Tuesday shall be observed as a Public Holiday in lieu of Easter Saturday and any work performed on Easter Saturday shall be paid at ordinary Saturday penalty rates. Should Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Years Day, Australia Day or ANZAC day fall on a weekend, the following Monday, or other day as agreed shall be taken in lieu.
