CITYWIDE DRESS AND APPEARANCE STANDARDS. The following shall be the minimum acceptable standard for City employees. A. Condition of clothing - Clean clothing and appropriate footwear shall be worn daily and shall be in good condition. All clothing shall be free of holes and tears, maintained in a clean condition. B. Grooming - All employees are expected to maintain high standards of good grooming and personal hygiene. C. Slogans/Logos - No clothing may be worn which has a product endorsement, projects a negative image, represents a conflict of interest, or otherwise is contrary to the best interests of the City of Burbank. Examples include products with controversial slogans, products that are contrary to city wellness policy, i.e. alcoholic beverages, cigarettes, products that represent or advertise firearms or other weapons, or products, which create an uncomfortable controversial or offensive image to the public. D. Casual Friday Standards - Business casual attire does not include the following: Sweatpants and sweatshirts with design(s) and or lettering Shorts (Skirts, culottes and shorts that are similar in appearance to skirts and culottes are okay) T-shirts with design(s) and or lettering (Fashion T-shirts are okay) Tank and/or tube tops Sheer, revealing, overly short or overly tight clothing Overly casual sandals such as thongs or 'flip flops' Clothing and/or jewelry with offensive and/or controversial words and/or logo(s) Faded or torn jeans
