Clearance of excessive leave balances. (a) The Employer may give notice to an employee of a requirement to utilise leave credits in excess of 10 weeks. (b) Within 30 days of the date notice is given, the Employer and employee will reach agreement on a program of taking leave to progressively reduce, within a 24 month period, the balance to 10 weeks. The program for taking leave will include clearance of the leave accrued during that 24 month period. (c) Nothing prevents the Employer and an employee agreeing in writing that a balance of more than 10 weeks can be maintained for a specific purpose.
