At the Employer's discretion, examination leave with pay may be granted to an employee for the purpose of writing an examination which takes place during the employee's scheduled hours of work. Such leave will only be granted where, in the opinion of the Employer, the course of study is directly related to the employee's duties or will improve his or her qualifications.

C18.01 Application for Certification, Representations and Interventions with respect to Applications for Certification When operational requirements permit, the Corporation will grant leave without pay:
(a) to an employee who represents the Bargaining Agent in an application for certification or in an intervention, and
(b) to an employee who makes personal representations with respect to a certification.
C18.02 The Corporation will grant leave with pay to an employee called as a witness by the Canada Industrial Relations Board and, when operational requirements permit, to a reasonable number of employees called as witnesses under the administrative practice of the Canada Industrial Relations Board.
