Common use of Committee Clause in Contracts

Committee. (a) There shall be a committee to address the planning of professional development initiatives for nurses as described in Article 9.01. This committee shall include representatives of the Hospital, one of whom shall be the Chief Nursing Officer or designate and another, a Human Resources representative; and of the Union, one of whom shall be the Bargaining Unit President or designate. The number of representatives is set out in the Appendix of Local Provisions. The membership of the Committee may be adjusted by mutual agreement, but at least fifty (50%) percent will be elected by the Union membership. The parties may agree to incorporate other disciplines into the Committee. The Hospital agrees to pay for time spent during regular working hours for representatives of the Union attending such meetings, and will provide replacement staff where needed for such absences. Where a nurse is required to attend such meetings outside of her or his regularly scheduled working hours, the nurse shall be paid for all time spent in attendance at such meetings at either her or his regular straight time hourly rate of pay or elect to receive lieu time off.
