Sick Leave Bank. 22.1 The purpose of this Sick Leave Bank is to provide a bank of sick leave hours from which a member may draw in case of extended absences due to illness/disability which renders the member incapable of working.
Sick Leave Bank. 1. A Sick Leave Bank shall be established for the purposes of aiding Members of the Bargaining Unit who have exhausted their accumulated sick leave through extended absence due to personal illness/disability or serious illness in the immediate family (immediate family and serious illness is defined in 3.1). The bank will contain unused sick days, which are voluntarily contributed by participating Members.
Sick Leave Bank. The purpose of the Sick Leave Bank is to provide a continuation of salary and benefits during times of serious, chronic illness or disability after the required number of temporary leave days has been used.
Sick Leave Bank. Any member of the bargaining unit who elects to participate in the Sick Leave Bank must contribute one day of the member's sick leave to the Sick Leave Bank in order to qualify for Bank membership. Such contributions must be made within 30 calendar days of the date the person begins employment or within 30 calendar days of a call for replenishment of the bank as provided in this Article 6:2. Whenever the number of days in the Sick Leave Bank on the first day of a new semester is less than one (l) times the number of members of the bargaining unit, the Committee shall notify all teachers within l0 calendar days. Any member of the bargaining unit who elects to continue participation in the Sick Leave Bank must contribute an additional day of the member's sick leave to the Sick Leave Bank within 30 calendar days from the date of notice. Teachers who are drawing days from the Sick Leave Bank at the time a call is made for replenishment of the bank will be continued as members of the bank. Teachers who have exhausted their current and accumulated sick leave at the time a call is made for replenishment of the bank will be continued as members of the bank provided they agree to contribute a day to the bank on the first day of the new school year next following. Teachers returning from authorized leave during the 30-day interval between the time a call is made for replenishment of the bank and the deadline for making a contribution will have 30 calendar days from the date their employment resumes to contribute to the bank. New hires and teachers returning from leave will be informed of the Sick Leave Bank by the Human Resources Office at the time of their orientation interview provided, however, that it shall be the responsibility of the teacher to report to the Human Resources Office for such orientation interview. Teachers who elect not to continue their membership in the bank may rejoin the bank by contributing one day of their accumulated sick leave to the bank within 30 calendar days of a call for replenishment of the bank as provided in this Article 6:2. Contributing members may apply for withdrawal from the Sick Leave Bank for reasons of prolonged or continuing illness or incapacitating accident of the contributing member in accordance with the Sick Leave Bank rules. Sick Leave Bank. (a) The Sick Leave Bank is established for use by qualified members of the bargaining unit whose sick leave accumulation has been exhausted through prolonged illness or accident.
Sick Leave Bank. A. Teachers on active duty in Xxxxxx County are eligible to contribute to a sick leave bank. Contributors will be permitted to apply for leave from the bank to cover regularly scheduled duty days for periods of personal illness, injury, or quarantine which are not only prolonged but are also catastrophic and incapacitating and which are not likely to permanently disable the teacher. New members of the sick leave bank may not access the bank until a 60 school-day waiting period has been met.
Sick Leave Bank. The Polk School Employee’s Sick Leave Bank shall be maintained in accordance with the provisions established by the Sick Leave Bank Committee. The Association shall appoint members to the Sick Leave Bank Committee in proportion to the percentage of its members in the Bank.

Sick Leave Bank. A voluntary sick leave bank shall be established whereby a certificated contracted school employee, who is absent from assigned duties due to personal illness and who has utilized all of his sick leave may petition a committee, as established herein, for sick leave days from the bank under the following conditions:
Sick Leave Bank. The purpose of the sick leave bank is to provide potential additional sick time for members who, because of serious prolonged illness or unexpected necessary medical care have (or will as a result of their medical condition) exhausted their accumulated sick leave. The intent of the sick leave bank is not for use of common colds, flu, or elective surgery. Similarly, sick leave bank days will not be used for maternity leave, barring extenuating medical complications. The bank will be administered by a committee composed of two representatives from Management and two representatives designated by MSEA. A majority vote of the committee shall be required for any days to be granted. The committee shall report to the School Board, the Association and the employees annually, indicating the use of the sick leave bank. The committee may submit recommendations for modification to the operation of the sick leave bank to the School Board and the Association. If the recommendations are ratified by the Board and the Association, the recommendations shall be implemented. In order to participate in the sick bank one must be covered by a collective bargaining agreement or be a confidential employee. Participation is voluntary; however, one must initially donate eight (8) hours of sick leave to the bank to join. Open enrollment is from September 1st to October 1st of each year. New hires can join the bank within 30 days of becoming eligible to earn sick time. Employees will continue to donate on a rotating basis, alphabetically, until the bank is built up to a minimum of three hundred and twenty (320) hours. After donating the minimum of eight (8) hours an employee can pass and the rotation will continue until the bank reaches the minimum of three hundred and twenty (320) hours. Employees at any time may donate excess sick time hours over one thousand forty (1,040) that would normally otherwise lapse. Employees who are retiring from the MECDHH/GBSD may donate sick time over seven hundred and twenty (720) hours, which is the maximum amount that can be credited towards School service for retirement purposes. Any employees resigning from MECDHH/GBSD may donate their unused sick time to the bank. The maximum accrual for the bank will be four hundred and eighty (480) hours.
