Compassionate Grant on Death of Employee. (a) Upon the death of a permanent member of staff, the employer may pay to the next of kin an amount as follows: (i) For a member of staff with 10 years and under 20 years’ service, one- twelfth of the annual salary (ii) For a member of staff with 20 years’ service or more, one-eighth of the annual salary. (b) For the purpose of this clause, the term ‘next of kin’ means: (i) The spouse or partner of the deceased staff member or (ii) Where there is no surviving spouse or partner, a nominated relative of the deceased staff member.
