Common use of Compensatory Leave Time Guidelines Clause in Contracts

Compensatory Leave Time Guidelines. (a) Accumulated compensatory leave time not used by the end of the school year will not be carried over to the following year with the following exceptions: 1. Compensatory leave time accumulated after May 1st may be carried over to the following year. 2. If a teacher has less than four (4) full hours of unused compensatory leave time accumulated as of May 1, such time, together with compensatory leave time accumulated after May 1, may be carried over to the following year. (b) Accumulated compensatory leave time may not be used in conjunction with Personal Business Leave or Pay The Sub Leave but may be combined with other District approved compensatory leave time. (c) Compensatory leave time will only be granted for regular education teachers between the second Friday after Labor Day and the Friday before Memorial Day, inclusive. Special education teachers, Title I teachers and staff may use compensatory leave any time. (d) Accrual and use of compensatory leave time will be documented in a form acceptable to the District. The teacher will be responsible for recording such compensatory leave time and shall have such time verified by the building administrator. The administrator shall initial the documentation which is kept by the teacher. (e) The employee may elect to be compensated for unused compensatory leave at the end of the school year at a rate of $65 per day for up to five (5) days.
