Compensatory Leave. At the employee's option, all or part of compensatory leave balances held at the beginning of active military duty may be:
1. applied to the period of absence due to military service;
2. paid as allowed at the time of placement on leave without pay; and/or
3. retained until reinstatement from military leave without pay. Retained compensatory leave will be available for use in accordance with the agreement.
Compensatory Leave. Where an employee not eligible for premium overtime as set out in this Component has been designated by an authorized supervisory official to work overtime, such employee shall accumulate compensatory leave at the rate of one (1) hour for each hour worked.
Compensatory Leave. Unit members shall not earn or be granted compensatory leave.
Compensatory Leave. Credits In lieu of Premium Pay for Holiday Work Whenever budgetary limitations preclude the payment of premium pay for holiday work, the employee must be credited with:
(a) 1½ hours of compensatory leave for each hour of holiday work on the employee's regular work day; and,
(b) 2 hours of compensatory leave (double time) for each hour of holiday work on the employee's regular day off.
Compensatory Leave. If, at the end of the school year, any teacher who has accumulated less than six (6) but at least four (4) hours of class cover leave, the teacher shall be credited with one (1) day of compensatory leave, and if any teacher has accumulated at least three (3) hours of class cover leave, the teacher will be credited with one-half (½) day of compensatory leave for use the following year. Compensatory leave accumulated under the provisions of this section must be used in no less than half-day (½) portions.
Compensatory Leave. Unscheduled holidays.
Compensatory Leave. (1) In order to meet the operational requirements Renewable Resource Officers engaged in field and patrol operations may not always be able to work the normal work week of five (5) work days followed by two (2) days of rest, and may sometimes be required to work in excess of five (5) consecutive days in one week. Because of this, Renewable Resource Officers are allowed flexibility in scheduling their work week on an irregular basis to meet operational requirements.
(a) As a means of compensating Renewable Resource Officers for any extra days worked as a result of their irregular work schedule, the Employer agrees that where a Renewable Resource Officer works in excess of the normal work days in a month, he/she shall be entitled to a compensatory day off with pay for each extra day worked.
(b) These compensatory days must be taken at a time mutually agreeable to both the employee and the Employer, and they must be used in the same fiscal year in which they are earned.
(c) At the end of the fiscal year, those accumulated days which the employee has been unable to use will be liquidated in cash, at the normal daily rate of pay, up to a maximum of fifteen (15) days. If the employee has accumulated more than fifteen (15) days, those days in excess of fifteen (15) lapse. Under no circumstances will an employee be paid out for more than fifteen (15) days at the end of the fiscal year and there shall be no carryover of those days from one fiscal year to the next.
Compensatory Leave. (a) Overtime shall be compensated in cash except where, upon request of an employee, overtime may be compensated in equivalent leave with pay.
(b) The Corporation shall grant compensatory leave at times convenient to the employee and the Corporation.
(c) Compensatory leave with pay not used by the end of the fiscal year in which it is earned may be carried over to the next fiscal year, and if not liquidated by the end of that fiscal year then payment in cash will be made. Payment will be at the employee’s hourly rate of pay as calculated from the classification prescribed in her certificate of appointment as at the end of the fiscal year.
(d) The Corporation will pay overtime compensation on or before the second Thursday following the end of the pay period in which it was worked.
Compensatory Leave. Xxxx agrees to credit each unit member with sixteen (16) hours compensatory leave at the beginning of the pay period that includes July 1 during each year of this agreement. Said compensatory leave shall be used within the fiscal year in which it is credited. Unit members may elect to receive overtime compensation in the form of compensatory leave. Limits on compensatory leave accrual shall be seventy- two (72) hour for all unit members. Any compensatory leave accrued in excess of the above stated amount shall be automatically paid to the unit member.
Compensatory Leave. Subject to operational requirements and when requested beforehand by an employee, overtime, calculated in accordance with Clause 19.1, may be compensated in compensatory leave with pay. Compensatory leave not used by the end of the vacation year in which it was earned, will be carried forward to the next vacation year, unless the employee requests that it be paid out in cash.
19.17.1 Compensatory leave will be granted at the written request of the employee provided service standards are maintained and no overtime payments result from granting such time off. Once the Corporation has approved the leave, it shall not be withdrawn within a five (5) day period preceding the commencement of the compensatory leave. This does not preclude the granting of such leave within the five (5) days notice subject to operational requirements.
19.17.2 The request for compensatory leave will be acted upon as soon as possible and the granting of such leave will not be unreasonably withheld. If the requesting employee has not received notice that the leave has been approved within the five (5) day limit, it will be deemed as having been approved.
19.17.3 Compensatory leave not granted in a vacation year may be carried over to the next vacation year, and every effort will be made by the Corporation and the employee to liquidate compensatory leave by the end of that vacation year.
19.17.4 In the event that it has not been liquidated by the end of that vacation year, it will be paid for in cash at the rate of pay in effect on March 31 of the vacation year in which the compensatory leave was earned.
