Common use of Confirmation of Permanent Appointment Clause in Contracts

Confirmation of Permanent Appointment. (a) The Employer may, after an employee has served in a position on a probationary basis for a period of six (6) months, confirm the appointment on a permanent basis. (b) The Employer shall, after the employee has served in a position on a probationary basis for a period of twelve (12) months, confirm the appointment on a permanent basis except as provided in Article 11.02(c) and 11.03(a). (c) A probationary employee who applies for and is appointed to another position in a different classification shall work at least six (6) months in the new position before the appointment is confirmed on a permanent basis. The entire probationary period will not exceed eighteen (18) months.
