Control of Student Behavior. 1. When students are under the direct supervision of Unit 10 personnel, the employee may maintain proper school atmosphere through means, which are reasonable in form and moderate in degree and toward this end, the Board shall support the employee in conformity with State Law. 2. In order to create and sustain such an atmosphere and control, employees shall refer students with behavior problems to the appropriate supportive staff through the building principal or designee. 3. Employees shall be allowed to participate in building and behavior committees if selected by the Association.
Control of Student Behavior a. Establishes and maintains order and discipline in the classroom including: 1. quiet when appropriate; 2. attention to the teacher when instruction is being given; 3. attention to students when they are responding to questions or offering information. 4. students conforming to established rules. b. Shows consistency in interpreting rules and deals fairly with student behavior. c. Disciplines students in a firm but controlled manner. d. Encourages development of courtesy, self-control, respect and responsibility by discussing, with groups or individuals, acceptable behavior. e. Informs the principal of problems and solicits help when needed. f. Assists in maintaining control and enforcing rules throughout the school.
