Counselors employed after January 1, 2007: each counselor shall work one hundred sixty eight (168), seven (7) hour days per year Monday through Friday. twenty (20) days shall be scheduled during peak times between August 1 and opening Day and January 2 and opening Day. the remain- ing one hundred forty-eight (148) days shall be scheduled during the same weeks worked by full time instructors within the academic year. Individual schedules will be assigned by the xxxx/supervisor after consultation with the counseling faculty. Counselor Workload. The fall semester fourth week enrollment data, excluding those students who are enrolled in only apprenticeship, independent study, or pre-recorded media courses, shall be the basis for determining the subsequent year’s full-time equivalent (FTE) authorized counseling level at a ratio not to exceed 1:900. At the completion of the fall semester first census, authorized counseling FTE for the following spring semester will be adjusted to meet the above ratio (1/2 annual FTE) only. Adjunct/overload faculty may be employed until regular faculty are allocated for the following year. If actual college counselor staffing is in excess of authorized counseling levels, the authorized level may be achieved by the assignment of counselors to perform instructional or other duties, as appropriate. Such assignments may include faculty transfers to another college/site if the particular college's staffing level is below the authorized level (see Article 5).

Counselor Workload. The fall semester fourth week enrollment data adjusted for students who are enrolled in multiple locations and those who would not be expected to seek counseling services, such as students enrolled under the contract with the University of California Xxxxx and employed public safety officers enrolled in in-service courses, shall be the basis for the full-time equivalent (FTE) authorized counseling level at a ratio not to exceed 1:900. The change in FTE from the prior year’s authorized level will be funded by the District for the current year from one-time-only program development funds. The continuing change in authorized FTE will be funded as per Attachment 1.
