Overload Assignment. 6.6.1 During any regular semester/term, a Unit Member may, by mutual agreement, assume an overload in accordance with the provisions of Article 8. However, such overload shall be subject to preemption to complete regular contract workloads.
6.6.2 For the purpose of this Article, “overload” means a counseling and guidance assignment within the meaning of section 6.3.1 which exceeds the regular contract workload.
Overload Assignment. If a teacher is assigned Scheduled Student Contact Minutes in excess of the aforementioned 1300 minute maximum work load, he or she shall be compensated on a pro-rata basis of their annual base salary.
Overload Assignment. An overload assignment can be defined as 1) a secondary or middle level teaching assignment of a sixth, graded course; 2) the elementary assignment of a multi-grade combination class; or 3) additional section assignments for elementary art, physical education, or music teachers. Teachers teaching an overload, as defined in number 1 and 2, will be entitled to additional compensation equal to 20% of their regular contract amount on the salary schedule prorated to the length of the teacher assignment. Teachers teaching an overload as defined in number 3 will be entitled to additional compensation calculated based on number of additional sections. The calculations for these overloads are referenced in Appendix iii.
Overload Assignment. The Division Xxxx is responsible for assigning Faculty Members as necessary to meet the instructional need of the Division. Full-time Faculty may voluntarily be assigned with their consent an additional assignment averaging up to 50% of a regular assignment per semester. Overload assignments for the academic year will not exceed 50% of an academic year’s contractual load unless written prior authorization is obtained from the appropriate Vice President or designee. The maximum overload assignment in any semester will not exceed sixty percent (60%) of the contractual load. Overload assignments for Faculty Members must be assigned outside of a normal seven consecutive hour assignment period unless this limitation is waived with the approval of the Xxxx and the appropriate Vice President. Two-semester Faculty Members with an overload will be paid at the highest adjunct faculty pay rate as specified in the College of DuPage Adjunct Faculty Association Agreement. Nine-month Faculty with an overload to perform the same type of duties as their regular academic year assignment will receive an hourly rate calculated from the Two Semester Faculty overload pay rate. Overload Faculty assignments for the regular two-semester/nine-month appointment period for full-time Faculty are calculated on a two-semester academic year basis. The maximum summer overload is 50% of an academic year’s contractual load for Two-semester Faculty. See Section F 6, SUMMER ASSIGNMENTS. The maximum summer overload for Nine-month Faculty is also found in Section F 6. Summer load assignments for Faculty will not exceed 50% of an academic year’s contractual load unless written prior authorization is obtained from the appropriate Vice President or designee. Faculty Members with a summer overload assignment will receive the same overload rate that was in effect during the preceding academic year.
Overload Assignment. 1. Full-time faculty members may accept an overload assignment on an extra contractual basis for compensation not to exceed 4/3 of their normal teaching load. Exceptions may be granted by the Vice President of Learning & Student Success or their designee in consultation with the Division Chair for special circumstances.
2. Overload assignments outside the instructor's division may be made in consultation with the Vice President of Learning & Student Success or their designee, the instructor's Division Chair, and the division/department Chair(s) of the outside division.
3. Salary for overload assignments is based on the part-time faculty salary schedule.
4. Overload assignments for probationary academic employees must be approved by the Vice President of Learning & Student Success in consultation with the Division Chair and input from the chairperson of the probationer’s Review Committee.
5. If a course is cancelled and the faculty member has an overload assignment, the cancelled course will be considered the overload.
6. Overload contracts will be issued prior to the first official student day of the class. Contracts for courses with enough enrollment to run will be issued at least one week before the first student day of class. The overload contract will state the course(s) to be taught, gross salary, and the duration of the appointment.

Overload Assignment. 1. A full-time teaching assignment at the secondary level shall be five (5) teaching periods and one (1) conference period at Gabrielino High School, or six (6) teaching and one (1) conference period at Jefferson Middle School. Any teaching assignment of a regular full-time unit member in addition to the above shall be considered overload. Overloads shall not include voluntary sixth period coaching. The parties agree that overload assignments shall be kept to a minimum and only be authorized when required to fill a classroom which cannot be filled as part of regular unit member=s assignment.
Overload Assignment. Teachers who undertake additional caseload or the instruction of additional classes beyond their 1.0 FTE are deemed to be teaching an overload. To ensure consistency, these classes and assignments will be defined as those - having a roster with one or more students where attendance is taken, involving formal assessment of students, comprising content consistent with a full semester course, and/or filling an instructional need within the school.
1. Overloads respond to an academic need for the students at the school that would otherwise be filled by an additional member of the bargaining unit through allocated FTE.
2. Teachers must have appropriate licensure to undertake the instruction.
3. Teachers will receive no additional benefits from the District (e.g. Prorated Leave, Prorated Seniority) aside from compensation (i.e. Salary, PERA, Medicare) when teaching an overload.
4. The Principal has the final decision-making authority to offer an overload assignment to a teacher. Acceptance of an overload is purely voluntary and at the discretion of the teacher.
5. Teachers agreeing to accept an overload assignment part-way through a semester (e.g. to cover maternity leave or early registration) will be compensated for all remaining days of the semester at their daily rate.
6. Teachers accepting an overload assignment agree to complete a form from Human Resources in order to track these individuals separately for appropriate payment.
7. Compensation for an overload class will be paid in a lump sum on December 1 or June 1 of the semester in which the teacher undertaken the instruction. The teacher will receive a rate of 0.1 FTE per class per AUG 1, 2023 79
Overload Assignment. A teacher who is required to carry more than the normal teaching load shall receive a stipend in the amount of nine thousand dollars ($9,000) for the 2020- 2021 school year and will be increased by an amount equal to the CPI-U for each year of this Agreement.
