COVERED FORMER SPOUSES Sample Clauses

The "Covered Former Spouses" clause defines the rights and benefits that a former spouse of an individual may retain or receive under an agreement or policy. Typically, this clause outlines the specific circumstances under which a former spouse remains eligible for certain benefits, such as health insurance coverage, pension rights, or survivor benefits, even after the dissolution of marriage. For example, it may specify that a former spouse is entitled to continued health coverage if certain conditions are met, such as the length of the marriage or the presence of dependent children. The core function of this clause is to provide clarity and legal certainty regarding the entitlements of former spouses, thereby preventing disputes and ensuring that obligations to former spouses are clearly defined and enforceable.
