Common use of Credit for Unused Sick Leave Clause in Contracts

Credit for Unused Sick Leave. As permitted by California Government Code Section 20965, an employee who retires may convert up to one hundred percent (100%) of the employee’s unused accumulated sick leave to additional service credit at the rate of 0.004 years of service credit for each day of unused sick leave (i.e. 250 days of sick leave equals one additional year of service credit.) If an employee elects to convert unused accumulated sick leave to additional service credit, those sick leave days shall not be “sold back” under Subsection 6.7 of this Agreement.
