Common use of Critical Incident Stress Clause in Contracts

Critical Incident Stress. (a) In cases of a critical incident, if the employee determines that they are unable to complete the remainder of their shift as a result of the impact of the incident, they will inform their on-shift manager/supervisor and will be granted leave for the remainder of their shift, without penalty or loss of pay. In the event an employee has experienced a critical incident while on duty, the employee may at the unit chief‟s discretion be released from duty, for the balance of the shift, with pay.
