Common use of Crop Season Clause in Contracts

Crop Season. The entire period of time over which a single crop begins and ends. For an annual crop (crops that have one year or less between planting and final harvest), the Crop Season begins with the first irrigation following the final harvest of the previous crop and ends with the final harvest date. For multi-year crops (e.g., alfalfa, Bermuda, citrus, asparagus ), the Crop Season consists of (1) a single calendar year, or (2) the time period beginning with the first irrigation following the previous crop and ending December 31, or (3) the time period between January 1 of the final year of cropping and the final harvest date.
