Common use of Death of the Employee Clause in Contracts

Death of the Employee. In the event an employee dies while on active payroll status, the full amount of unused sick leave remaining shall be paid, at the rate effective on the date of death, to the employee’s beneficiary designated for life insurance coverage. In no event shall this sick leave payment exceed the equivalent of one year’s salary.
