Common use of DEFENCE FORCE LEAVE Clause in Contracts

DEFENCE FORCE LEAVE. 48.1 Leave of absence on full pay for a period not exceeding ten (10) working days in any calendar year may be granted to an employee who is a volunteer part-time member of the Defence Force. Such leave may be granted for the purpose of deployment, attending a training camp, drill parade, school, class or course of instruction. 48.2 Additional ‘top up’ paid leave, equal to the difference between the employee’s defence force income and their University salary, will be provided for a period of twelve (12) weeks where the University is in receipt of the Federal Government’s Employer Support Scheme for Defence Reservists.
