Demotion/Reduction in Pay. Demotion to a lower classification, or a 4 reduction in pay, at the Employer’s option, may be used as a form of discipline when 5 other corrective measures have been used and/or the County believes the severity of 6 the issue is such that progressive discipline is not warranted or does not warrant 7 discharge. Demotion to a lower classification and reduction in pay are optional forms 8 of discipline to be imposed primarily in performance related disciplinary action.
