Common use of Departmental Health and Safety Committee Clause in Contracts

Departmental Health and Safety Committee. Each City department will form joint safety committees in accordance with WISHA requirements at each permanent work location where there are eleven (11) or more employees. Where there is need, safety committees may also be formed at division levels, and/or unit levels, however these shall not replace the departmental safety committee. When setting up safety committee elections, a department will notify the unions represented at that location and the union shall have 14 days to provide the City with a list of union appointed members proportionate to their representation at the location. Meetings will be conducted in accordance with WAC 000-000-00000. Committee recommendations will be forwarded to the appropriate Appointing Authority for review and action, as necessary. The Appointing Authority or designee will report follow-up action/information to the Safety Committee.
