Common use of Description of Appropriate Unit Clause in Contracts

Description of Appropriate Unit. For purposes of this Agreement, the appropriate unit shall mean office and clerical employees employed by the School District excluding the following: confidential employees, supervisory employees, essential employees, part-time employees whose services do not exceed the lesser of fourteen (14) hours per week or thirty-five percent (35%) of the normal work week in the employee bargaining unit, employees who hold positions of a temporary or seasonal character for a period not more than sixty-seven (67) working days in any calendar year (100 days for certain students per P.E.L.R.A.), and emergency employees as defined by P.E.L.R.A. For purposes of this Agreement, it is further understood that the following positions are excluded: Accountants, Secretary to the Superintendent, Secretaries to members of the Superintendent's Executive Council.
