DESCRIPTION OF PROCESSING DAFM and Bord Bia DAFM will issue a notice under Section 42 of the Animal Welfare Act 2013. Once issued, DAFM will notify Bord Bia through a secure file transfer mechanism. To ensure accuracy of information, it was determined that a minimum of three data fields (farmer and, address and herd/flock number) are necessary. Once received, Bord Bia will check the details of the information received against its membership database. Bord Bia will then put a note on the system against a Scheme member. This will trigger a spot audit, at which point, existing but separate processes at Bord Bia will be followed. Existing processes include auditing against Bord Bia Quality Assurance Scheme membership criteria.
