Descriptor IV: Analytical Methods and Detection Limits. This descriptor provides assurance that, when analytical and/or field survey results are less than or equal to the MDC, or the radionuclide is not detected, “zero” or “less than MDC” is not reported or used in the calculation of the concentration term and that actual results are reported wherever possible.
