Disability Leave and Injury on the Job. Section A. Definition. Disability leave is paid leave granted to an employee who is temporarily disabled as the result of an accidental injury or illness sustained directly in the performance of the employee’s work, as provided for in the worker’s compensation law of the State of Maryland.
