Discontinuance of Faculty Positions, Program, or Department Not Mandated by Financial Exigency. Termination of an appointment with continuous tenure (or of a probationary or special appointment, before the end of the specified term) may occur as a result of a bona fide formal downsizing or discontinuance of a program or department of instruction. Whenever possible, program discontinuance will occur at the end of the academic year when the decision is made. The standards and procedures for program downsizing or discontinuance listed below will apply: a. Following a program review by the Faculty Senate, a recommendation regarding downsizing or discontinuing formally a program or department of instruction will be made to the Vice President of Academic Affairs for consideration. The Faculty Association will be notified of this recommendation as well. b. The VPAA or faculty may identify programs for review by the Faculty Senate. Program review should include information on costs, enrollment, student-faculty ratios, societal need, program quality, and other criteria appropriate to the particular situation. c. Before the Administration issues notice to a faculty member of its intention to terminate an appointment because of formal downsizing or discontinuance of a program or department of instruction, the institution will make every effort (in consultation with the faculty member involved) to place that faculty member in another suitable position or location. If placement in another position or location would be facilitated by a reasonable period of training, the University will, upon request, hold the position for one semester. If no position is available within the institution, with or without retraining, the faculty member's appointment may then be terminated. The faculty member may then be given a terminal year contract for the following academic year.

  • Cooperation on forestry matters and environmental protection 1. Such collaboration will be as follows: (a) exchanges on science and technology as well as policies and laws relating the sustainable use of forest resources; (b) cooperation in training programs, internships, exchange of experts and projects advisory; (c) advice and technical assistance to public institutions and organizations of the Parties on sustainable use of forest resources and environmental protection; (d) facilitating forest policy dialogue and technical cooperation under the Network of Sustainable Forest Management and Forest Rehabilitation in Asia- Pacific Region, initiated at the 15th Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Meeting; (e) encouraging joint studies, working visits, exchange of experiences, among others; and (f) others activities mutually agreed.

  • Commercialization Reports Throughout the term of this Agreement and during the Sell-Off Period, and within thirty (30) days of December 31st of each year, Company will deliver to University written reports of Company’s and Sublicensees’ efforts and plans to develop and commercialize the innovations covered by the Licensed Rights and to make and sell Licensed Products. Company will have no obligation to prepare commercialization reports in years where (a) Company delivers to University a written Sales Report with active sales, and (b) Company has fulfilled all Performance Milestones.   • Professional Development Program (a) The parties agree to continue a Professional Development Program for the maintenance and development of the faculty members' professional competence and effectiveness. It is agreed that maintenance of currency of subject knowledge, the improvement of performance of faculty duties, and the maintenance and improvement of professional competence, including instructional skills, are the primary professional development activities of faculty members. (b) Information collected as part of this program shall be the sole property of the faculty member. This information or any judgments arising from this program shall not be used to determine non-renewal or termination of a faculty member's contract, suspension or dismissal of a faculty member, denial of advancement on the salary scale, nor affect any other administrative decisions pertaining to the promotion or employment status of the faculty member. (c) A joint advisory committee consisting of three regular faculty members who shall be elected by and are P.D. Committee Chairpersons and three administrators shall make recommendations for the operation, financing and management of the Professional Development Program.
