DISKING. Disking native prairie or smooth brome is a simple method for improving wildlife habitat. While disking benefits both types of grassland, this practice is generally used to break up solid strands of smooth brome. Disking strips of grassland early in the spring sets back the succession of a grassland community and promotes the growth of broad-leafed plants that are beneficial to wildlife. Disking is also used to maintain and develop firebreaks. Since 1998, approximately 50 acres of smooth brome has been disked by the dam and eight miles of firebreaks have been developed on the area. The firebreaks are a 20-foot wide disc strip. Future plans are to incorporate an additional 20-foot strip beside all present and future firebreaks. When these double strips are established, one strip will be worked and kept clear of vegetation to be used as a firebreak while the other will be worked early in the spring to be used as a broadleaf/foodplot strip. The function of the strips will be alternated yearly. 1) Disc 50 acres/year in strategic locations providing additional wildlife habitat and firebreaks. * Continue disking within solid stands of smooth brome. * Incorporate disking strips in native grasslands. * Develop and maintain disc strips for weed strips and firebreaks. * Alternate use of disc strips yearly. * Ensure that areas are in accordance with NRCS standards. * Develop disking plan for the area.
DISKING. Weed Abatement by disking shall be performed in such a manner as to completely eliminate all standing weeds. Disking shall be accomplished by using a double throw disc at a depth of 6 inches to place all weeds under soil surface. Where the nature of the soil is such that it is not receptive to the cutting edge of the discs, the areas shall be cross disked to reduce the magnitude of any exposed combustibles only as directed by Park Staff. Where the nature of the soil is such that is not receptive to the cutting edge of the disc being used being used and where the cross disking fails to meet the standards of the County, It shall be the responsibility of the Contractor to provide the proper equipment and hand labor at all times with the tractor operator pulling a disc for purposes of removal of perimeter weeds that are not removed by the disking method. This shall be considered as part of the initial work and no additional compensation will be allowed. Will be considered as included in Contract unit price per ACRE in accordance with these specifications and no additional compensation will be allowed thereafter.

Local Furnishing Bonds. Tax-exempt bonds issued by a Transmission Owner under an agreement between the Transmission Owner and the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (“NYSERDA”), or its successor, or by a Transmission Owner itself, and pursuant to Section 142(f) of the Internal Revenue Code, 26 U.S.C. § 142(f). Locational Based Marginal Pricing (“LBMP”). A pricing methodology under which the price of Energy at each location in the NYS Transmission System is equivalent to the cost to supply the next increment of Load at that location (i.e., the short-run marginal cost). The short-run marginal cost takes generation Bid Prices and the physical aspects of the NYS Transmission System into account. The short-run marginal cost also considers the impact of Out-of-Merit Generation (as measured by its Bid Price) resulting from the Congestion and Marginal Losses occurring on the NYS Transmission System which are associated with supplying an increment of Load. The term LBMP also means the price of Energy bought or sold in the LBMP Markets at a specific location.
