Dismissal Duty. In order to minimize the loss of after-school planning time, elementary schools where there are ongoing issues with late buses (more than 10 minutes late from the end of the student day) will utilize a centralized holding and dismissal program for students waiting for late buses, late pick-ups, or students returned to school. The leadership team will determine the central holding plan before the beginning of the school year. Should no central location be available, then a dismissal plan will be developed by the leadership team. The goal of the plan is to minimize the impact on teacher planning time. The plan will be shared with all staff no later than the last day of pre-service week.
