Distribution system overview. 7.2 Transmission At the main transmission sites the Audio Transport Stream is fed to the transmitters which produce an RF signal at the specified power. At the main transmission sites each antenna is constructed in two halves and each half has its own feeder cable. The overarching design criterion is that the antenna can facilitate full power into either half. At the main transmission sites each Audio Transport Stream has its own transmitter. The Service Provider employs solid state transmitters which have dual drives and multiple output modules and therefore degrade gracefully in the vast majority of fault situations. The outputs from the active transmitters are combined and the power split across the two halves of the antenna. An overview of the arrangement for main sites can be seen in Figure 7.2.1.
Distribution system overview. 7.2 Transmission At the main transmission sites the Audio Transport Stream is fed to the Clients transmitters which produce an RF signal at the specified power. The RF signal is presented to the Service Providers antenna combiner system by the Client. At the main transmission sites each antenna is constructed in two halves and each half has its own feeder cable. The overarching design criterion is that the antenna can facilitate full power into either half. The outputs from the active transmitters are combined and the power split across the two halves of the antenna. An overview of the arrangement for main sites can be seen in Figure 7.2.1.
