Duties and Responsibilities of an OIC. An OIC must perform and be responsible for the following types of duties: (a) operationally and administratively command, plan, organise, administer, control, co-ordinate and supervise the activities of the station or section; (b) manage and provide leadership to the station or section on a day to day basis, including controlling the available resources and making the day to day management decisions concerning these functions; and (c) have responsibilities for the staff in the station or section for issues such as performance management, risk management, EEO, welfare, OH&S, and leave approvals.
