Effect of departmental workloads. Termination of an instructor's appointment under this article will be made only if the average workload for the instructor's department falls below 512 hours per year of lecture method equivalent hours. Instructors who carry annual overloads will be provided equivalent release time or will be paid at the rates specified in Schedule D. An annual overload will be defined as being in excess of 512 lecture method hours or equivalent in an academic year. Overload payments will only be made if the average workload for the instructor's department exceeds 512 hours per year.
