Effect on Retirement Status. A period of sabbatical leave does not affect retirement status provided retirement contributions shall be made for the period of the leave. Retirement contributions shall be made based on the sabbatical leave compensation and in accordance with the Education Code and provisions of the State Teacher's Retirement System.
