Common use of Elementary Limits Clause in Contracts

Elementary Limits. The District shall provide class size ratios that do not exceed the following numbers at the elementary level, grades K-5: Kindergarten 22 per session Grade 1 23 per session Grades 2 and 3 25 per session Grades 4 and 5 27 per session Elementary Specialist 28 per session The Association agrees to release the District from this obligation in the event the District should suffer a levy loss. If state funding for K-4 changes, the parties agree to return to negotiations to discuss any necessary changes to this section. If, after the first two weeks of the school year, an elementary class or daily load exceeds the District limits stated above, the teacher shall have the option of choosing one (1) of the following remedies, that choice shall be communicated to the building principal. The parties will initiate the overload remedy within five (5) working days of notice to the building principal. a. One hour of paraeducator assistance per day based on availability; b. Compensation at $15 per day starting the first day of attendance; c. Release time of one-half day every other week; d. Other remedies as agreed to between the employee and the principal. In addition to the option selected from the resolutions mentioned above, employees shall receive $100 for each month they are in overload based on the monthly enrollment counts, beginning with the October enrollment count. Elementary Specialists--Elementary PE, ITS, science, and music specialists shall teach no more than seven (7) class periods per day, with total weekly contact time not to exceed that of classroom teachers. Elementary specialists shall receive 1/7th of the $100 overload resolution set forth above per overloaded class, for each month they are in overload based on the monthly enrollment counts.

IfEmployees will automatically receive overload pay at the rate of $450 for each month they are in overload based on monthly enrollment counts, after beginning with the first two weeks of the school year, an elementary class or daily load exceeds the District limits stated aboveOctober enrollment count. Any adjustment to continuous planning time resulting from such agreements shall be subject to approval by the Association. Elementary specialists shall receive 1/7th 1/6th of the $100 above listed overload resolution set forth above per overloaded class, for each month they are in overload based on the monthly enrollment counts. The employee shall not be required to provide overage documentation to receive pay under this Section.
