Common use of Eligibility for Layoff Status Clause in Contracts

Eligibility for Layoff Status. Only regular employees who have completed their probationary period and have received a layoff notice shall be eligible for layoff status. Probationary employees shall not be eligible for layoff and recall. Layoff and recall status shall be limited to a maximum of 18 months for recall to one’s previous position and 12 months for recall to a vacancy in a position other than the employee’s previous position. In no case shall layoff and recall status be longer than the employee’s bargaining unit seniority time.
