An employee is eligible for pay regardless of the length of University service, and such pay is in addition to any University payment for temporary military leave for active-duty training, extended military leave, and military leave for physical examinations.

The employee has at least 12 months of continuous University service immediately prior to the leave (any prior full-time military service shall be included in calculating this University service requirement); b. Eligibility for Pay. In order to get sick leave with pay, each employee covered by this Agreement agrees to (1) report promptly to the department or division head the reason for his absence; (2) use sick leave only for sickness of the employee except for point 3 below and bear the burden of proof of such sickness if required by the City; and (3) a permanent employee may also use sick leave with pay for absences necessitated by illness, injury or exposure to contagious disease by a member of his immediate family. Immediate family is defined as parent, spouse, sibling brother-in-law, sister- in-law, child, step-child, parent-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, natural grandparent and grandchild. The word “spouse” shall include a civil union partner, and all “in-law” categories shall include equivalent relationships effected by means of a civil union. Presence of the employee must be actually and immediately required for bona fide serious circumstances or emergencies and absence from duty shall not exceed the period of actual need.
Eligibility for Pay. In order to get sick leave with pay, each employee covered by this agreement agrees to (1) report promptly to the department or division head or his designee the reason for the absence: (2) to keep the department or division head informed of the condition and anticipated return to work date; (3) to use sick leave only for sickness, injury or disability of the employee or his family as stated above.
Eligibility for Pay. An employee granted temporary military leave for active duty training or reserve training leave for inactive duty is entitled to receive regular University pay for the first thirty (30) calendar days, but not to exceed the actual period of active duty for training, provided: a. The employee has at least twelve (12) months of continuous University service immediately prior to granting of the leave (any prior full-time military service shall be included in calculating this University service requirement); and b. Such payment, in addition to University payment for reserve training, extended military leave and for military leave for physical examinations, does not exceed thirty (30) calendar days’ pay in any one (1) fiscal year.

An employee who is present at his/her work location on approved annual leave, or approved sick leave without pay for nine days or less before the holiday, is eligible for holiday pay. 2. An employee who is not returning after the holiday/recess due to resignation, retirement or dismissal is to be terminated on his/her last workday prior to the holiday/recess. Terminated employees, where appropriate, will be paid a lapse time salary adjustment for that portion of the school year already worked.
