Common use of Enrollment Period Clause in Contracts

Enrollment Period. 1. An “annual” enrollment period shall be held at a time mutually agreed upon by the District and the Association. During the enrollment period, any employee previously eligible for benefits who had not enrolled in one of the Board provided health- care options will be permitted to enroll in such a plan, subject to carrier provisions. During the enrollment period, dependents previously eligible for benefits who had not enrolled in one of the Board provided health- care options will be permitted to enroll in such a plan. 2. No changes in the insurance selection will be made by the employee during the year except due to an I.R.S. qualifying event. 3.a. Upon return from a Board approved leave without pay the employee shall be entitled to re-enroll in the benefit plans they were previously enrolled in prior to the leave of absence. The employee has 30 days from their return from leave to submit the enrollment forms to the Employee Benefits Department. Coverage will be effective the first of the month following 30 days after the return from leave.
