Escort Duty. 11.01 Where the Employer requests, either on its own behalf or acting as an agent for the ambulance or any other form of transportation, that an Employee escort a patient being transported through any means (i.e. medivacs), and the Employee agrees to do escort duty, subject to Article 11.01 (d) such Employee shall be considered an Employee of the Employer and; (a) Shall not lose regular earnings or days off for the time spent resulting from escort. Escort duty shall be counted as the time elapsed from leaving the Facility/Agency to return to the Facility/Agency. (b) An Employee required to attend the patient and/or while waiting to return and/or while in return travel shall be paid overtime in accordance with Article 8 for the period exceeding normal hours of work within twenty-four (24) hours from the time she commenced her initial scheduled shift. An OTFT Employee on escort duty beyond the twenty-four (24) hour period, who is not scheduled, shall be paid up to a maximum of eight (8) hours at her regular rate of pay as if she had been scheduled, for each subsequent twenty-four (24) hour period. (c) An Employee on escort duty shall be allowed reasonable expenses for meals and lodging as required on such an assignment. The Employer shall on submission of an expense claim reimburse the Employee the cost of such meals and lodging. (d) An Employee shall not be required to perform escort duty against her wishes when other Employees are willing to perform this duty. 11.02 Except in an emergency situation, an Employee on escort duty for the Employer shall not be required to attend to more than one patient who requires "one-to-one" care. 11.03 Where an Employee is required to escort a client under Article 11.01 she shall not be required to commence a scheduled shift assignment within twelve (12) hours of her return from escort duty. If such is not satisfactory the Employee shall have the right to designate the scheduled shift or part thereof as an unpaid rest period. 11.04 If an ambulance company or any other party requests the Employer to provide names, addresses or telephone numbers of Employee(s) on staff for escort duty, the Employer shall not do so without written authorization from the Employee. 11.05 Any Employee who consents to or is required to perform escort duty will be provided with orientation to the ambulance and appropriate training to meet the needs of the client being transported.

If such is not satisfactory the Employee shall have the right to designate the scheduled shift or part thereof as an unpaid rest period. 11.04 If an ambulance company or any other party requests the Employer to provide names, addresses or telephone numbers of Employee(s) on staff for escort dutybargaining unit, the Employer shall not do so without written authorization from will notify the Employee. 11.05 Any Employee who consents Union in writing at least ninety (90) days prior to or is required to perform escort duty implementation of such change. Within two (2) weeks of receiving the notice, a meeting will be provided with orientation convened between the Union and Employer to review the proposed change, including: the number of positions affected; options to minimize displacement: identify Employees who will be affected: the process for implementation, including target dates: and the reorganization goals. The Employer and the Union shall discuss the implementation of Article Lay- Off and Re-employment, and Article Classifications, Vacancies and New Positions. An Employee appointed by the Union will be released from duty without loss of pay to attend such a meeting. If the Employer and the Union have not reached agreement regarding the effect of the reorganization will have on Employees prior to the ambulance date of implementation, the Employer will proceed with the workplace reorganization. Maintenance of Wages During the ninety (90) day notice period, affected Employees will maintain their present rate of pay. Employees demoted or who exercise bumping rights will receive the wage rate of their new position. All positions created as a result of workplace reorganization shall be posted in accordance with Article Classifications, Vacancies and appropriate training to meet the needs New Positions. All new job titles and rates of the client being transportedpay shall be negotiated accordance with Article Classifications.
