Common use of Excessive Travel Clause in Contracts

Excessive Travel. a) Travel Time in excess of one hour at the beginning and one hour at the end of the normally scheduled day will be compensated at straight time. b) When an assignment requires departure from the employee‟s home the night before, or on a regular day off, time spent in travel will be compensated at straight time.

Where an employee can demonstrate that due to circumstances beyond their control (e.g. weather conditions…) their travel time was in excess of the normal average travel time to a destination they will be compensated for the additional travel time incurred at straight time. b) When an assignment requires departure from the employee‟s employee’s home the night before, or on a regular day off, time spent in travel will be compensated at straight time.
