Temporary Employees 3.3.1 A temporary employee is an employee who is hired for short-term work assignment which is not ongoing (i.e. normally 12 months or less and not extending beyond 24 months). The employee's benefits and working conditions are as per Article 34 (Temporary Employees).
Temporary Employee Temporary employee" means an employee who is appointed with a definite ending date. A temporary employee's term of employment may not exceed a total of 12 months in any 24-month period in any one agency.

When bridges and culverts are re- moved, associated fills shall also be removed to the ex- tent necessary to permit normal maximum flow of water.
Temporary Upgrade An employee in a temporary upgrade status shall have no right to grieve or arbitrate release from such temporary upgrade status.
Temporary Teachers Section 2 (Application of Act) of The Teachers’ Life Insurance (Government Contributory) Act shall include teachers employed as a “temporary teacher” under Clause 2 of The Education Act, 1995 provided the term specified for the temporary contract is for a period of at least 20 teaching days (full or partial). Temporary Layoff The Employer may temporarily layoff an employee for up to ninety (90) days due to an unanticipated loss of funding, revenue shortfall, lack of work, shortage of material or equipment, or other unexpected or unusual reasons. An employee will normally receive seven (7) days notice of a temporary layoff.

Temporary Upgrading (a) In the event that an employee is temporarily transferred to a higher classification than that to which the employee is regularly assigned, he or she shall be paid at the normal wage scale for such higher classification during the period of such transfer for not less than a full tour of duty.
Temporary Layoffs A. The Employer may initiate a temporary layoff for up to twelve (12) working days per fiscal year. Employees will be given thirty (30) days’ notice before the effective date of a temporary layoff. Employees may request alternative temporary layoff days from their manager or supervisor and any requests will be considered and approved or denied in writing.
