Extended notice period in particular cases. If a salaried employee whose employment has been terminated because of redundancy has reached the age of 55 years on the day of the notice of termination and at that time has been employed for an uninterrupted period of no less than 10 years, the notice period shall be extended by six months. Such an extension of the notice period shall, however, not apply beyond the employee’s 65th birthday.
