Extraordinary Salary Increases. 16.3.1 Nothing in this Agreement shall preclude the University from providing salary increases to members of the bargaining unit in excess of the amount specified in this Article, provided that such increases are for the purpose of relieving inequities not adequately addressed by the provisions of this Article, for the purpose of matching bona fide offers from other institutions, or for rewarding professional contributions of an extraordinary nature. The AAUP shall be notified in writing of the amount paid and of the specific reasons for the award.
