Step Increases. (a) The following is the method used to determine service credit, since the last date of hire, for purposes of positioning on the salary range: i) all continuous service shall be retained and transferred with the employee if she/he changes her/his status from full-time to part- time and vice versa. ii) a part-time employee who changes status to full-time will be given credit on the basis of fifteen hundred (1500) paid hours of part- time being equivalent to one (1) year of full-time service and vice versa. iii) in addition, an employee who is so transferred will be given credit for paid hours accumulated since the date of last advancement. (b) Annual increments for full-time employees shall be paid on their anniversary date. (c) Annual increments for part-time employees shall be paid on the completion of each fifteen hundred (1500) hours worked.

Step Increases. .01 The parties hereto acknowledge that regular annual step increases will be awarded as specified in this document during the term of the Collective Agreement expiring June 30, 2015, and eligible employees will ordinarily receive such increases in the normal course. .02 The awarding of a step increase is, however, conditional upon satisfactory performance. It is understood that serious employment deficiencies such as may be identified in relation to disciplinary action under Article 9, will normally result in the withholding of a step increase, and could ultimately lead to Dismissal for Cause proceedings under Articles 10.12 and/or 10.13. .03 Decisions to withhold a step increase may be the subject of a grievance. .04 OPSEU will be advised in advance, and in writing, of all cases where it is decided that a step increase is to be withheld.

Step Increases. Employees shall normally be hired at the first step and shall be eligible for step increases after twelve (12) months at each step in the range. Unpaid leave of fifteen (15) days or more shall result in an adjustment to the eligibility date for the next step increase. Employees whose eligibility date falls between the first (1st) and the fifteenth (15th) of the month shall be eligible on the first (1st) day of the month. Employees whose eligibility date falls after the fifteenth (15th) of the month shall be eligible on the first (1st) day of the following month. 12.5.1 Step increases may be withheld or delayed based on disciplinary actions taken in the preceding six (6) months or unsatisfactory job performance. Such cause must be stipulated in writing and be presented to the employee at least thirty (30) days prior to the eligibility date. The employee must be informed as to why the step increase is being withheld, what action he/she must take to obtain the increase and the date on which the employee will next be eligible for consideration for a step increase. The employee's next eligibility date shall not be changed even though the increase may be withheld. Such step increase shall not be withheld or delayed for more than six (6) months.
Step Increases. For all employees step increases will be given at annual intervals based upon the initial date of hire or the date of promotion. The County may deny a step increase for just cause, which shall relate to the employee’s performance only.
Step Increases. Following the date this Agreement becomes effective, bargaining unit employees shall receive a step increase; i.e., move from one step to the next immediate step in the pay range for his job classification, on his next anniversary date of employment by the Village (or on the date of promotion or demotion, whichever occurs later) provided the employee has obtained a satisfactory or better job evaluation for the year immediately preceding said date from the Employer. Employees being paid at the last step of their pay range shall not receive a step increase unless and until they are promoted to a higher job classification, in which event they shall again be eligible for step increases provided they are not placed at the last step of the new pay range.
