FACILITY AND PROCESS DESCRIPTION A. FACILITY DESCRIPTION. IBM Essex Junction, Vermont is a semiconductor facility located near Burlington, Vermont. The facility encompasses 1.81 million square feet of which 627 thousand square feet are dedicated to semiconductor manufacturing operations. There are approximately 7500 IBM employees and 1500 contractor employees working at the site. The facility manufactures and tests semiconductor memory and logic devices through a complex, multi-step manufacturing process.
