Flow statistics Sample Clauses

Flow statistics. In order to take relevant path selection decisions, the SME needs to have a view on how they are applied in the SNT. This need is covered by flow statistics. Flow statistics gather the list of flows that transit through the network, with associated data about their load, and the way they are handled by the SNT. Statistics are provided for any registered or not registered flow. The SNT reports them depending on its matching capabilities. For both not registered and registered flows, it may report flows at a higher level of details than specified in a previously received MN- Command.FlowClassificationRule. By this means, the decision algorithm may refine its out- put for already defined flows. Foreach flow, three type of data are retrieved: • Network statistics: actual statistics about number of packets and throughput of the considered flow. • Classification information: informs the SME how the flow is actually handled. It in- forms to which Flow Identifier (FlowID) the flow was mapped, and to which Path Identifier (PathID) the flow is currently routed. • Matching information: matching information that exactly identify the reported flow. This data may be reused as-is by the SME in a MN-Command.FlowClassificationRule. The SME regularly probe the SNT for updated statistics. These statistics are stored in the flow statistics table. Then, they are used by the path selection process to adjust network load.
